• Ensure all individual expectations of our services are met; this will include knowing who will deliver their service and when
• Provide information to individuals that use our services in an appropriate manner or format which they can understand and acknowledge
• Communicate with individuals that use our services in a respectful, dignified manner that they can understand and acknowledge
• Ensure individuals that pay towards the cost of their service have a clear set of written terms and conditions detailing their obligations

At Protend Healthcare Limited, we aim to support the development of strong resilient communities through the achievement of set outcomes that is person-centred and integrated. We support individuals to access and use local assets and resources in their communities through active partnership with them and their network of support. This helps to achieve in the longer term, positive use of local resources and reduction in the long-term, a dependency on traditional forms of care. Our staff therefore, are equipped with enabling skills that seeks to maximise all available opportunities to the individual to achieve long-term independence.

Our approach to person-centred care focuses on the individual’s abilities and not disability. At Protend Healthcare Limited, we believe every individual has the potential to achieve their set outcomes and aspirations. We do not align the person to our care approach, but rather adapt our care approach to the person’s needs. We therefore support them to take advantage of every opportunity to achieve independence that makes meaning to them.

Our model of care also focuses on achieving the following outcomes:

• individuals to remain in their own home with support where required
• individuals to realise maximum possible independence (or to achieve as normal a life as possible)
• to acquire or re-acquire basic living skills or retain those skills which remain, for as long as possible;
• Prevention of decline in the individual in terms of physical, mental and social well-being where improvement is not realisable;
• Achieve rehabilitation of the individual back into the community where appropriate;
• Provide relief to carers;
• contribute to the emotional and social well-being of the individual

We will employ staff with the necessary skills, experience and qualifications for the provision of services to individuals in their own homes, with a wide range of support/care needs. We are committed to the highest standards and quality of care with delivery based on a multi-disciplinary contribution, having at its centre the service users and people significant to them. In our workforce, we have clinical and non-clinical staff with expertise gained from working in a variety of health care settings and therefore, can provide support that is meaningful and adds value to the individual.
